About the Role
As a Personal Care Attendant, you will play an essential role in supporting clients with their daily living needs. Your work helps ensure that every individual receives the care, attention, and respect they deserve.
Primary Responsibilities
Personal Care Tasks
- Mouth and denture care
- Shaving and grooming (hair shampooing, combing, oiling)
- Bathing or bed baths (partial or complete)
- Dressing and toileting assistance
- Medication reminders
- Feeding assistance
- Transferring or repositioning clients
- Ambulation and mobility support
Home Management Tasks
- Cleaning and organizing rooms
- Preparing and serving meals
- Laundering and changing linens
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and dishwashing
- Grocery shopping and errands
- Cleaning and operating small household appliances
- Maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for clients
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to read care plans and accurately complete written documentation
Training:
- Completion of a 40-hour Personal Care Services curriculum
- Must pass the standardized examination designated by the Mississippi Division of Medicaid
Experience:
- Previous caregiving or home management experience preferred, but not required
- Must demonstrate the ability to provide respectful, compassionate care to elderly or disabled individuals
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid Mississippi driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Physically able to perform lifting, transferring, and mobility assistance
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must pass a criminal background check (no disqualifying offenses)
- Emotionally mature, dependable, and empathetic toward clients
- Free of communicable diseases, verified by a physician

Supervision
All PCAs report directly to the Personal Care Services Supervisor, Agency Director, or designated supervisory personnel overseeing client services.
